Houston has sports teams for every major professional league, except the National Hockey League. The Houston Astros is an MLB expansion team formed in 1962 (as the "Colt .45s" until 1965) that made one World Series appearance in 2005.[144] The Houston Rockets, which was formed in 1967 in San Diego, relocated in 1971, and have won two NBA Championships.[145] The Houston Texans play in the NFL. The Houston Dynamo play in Major League Soccer. The Houston Dash play in the National Women's Soccer League.
